Type 304 real stainless steel. Corrosion resistant, will not rust. Bright clean surface and rounded ends, simply wipe off manufacturing residue. No stamps on the wire ends, no need to cut the ends of TIG welding wire. No frills blocking wire is perfect for blocking lace and worsted weight knit and crochet projects. Package set includes 10 pieces of blocking wire, 1/16" diameter, 3/32" length and 36" length. In PVC tube (random color).

Blocking is an essential, yet often overlooked step in knitting. Once the project is off the needles, blocking waves a magic wand on your knitting, taking it from good to great – bringing your yarn to blooming softness, smoothing out stitches and transforming your lace stitches into delicate beauty. Easily straighten straight lines in your knitting with blocking wire. Blocking adds a finishing touch to your hand knitting, making it an easier and quicker experience when using wire (blocking pins). No-frills blocking wire is perfect for blocking lace, knitting and crochet projects. Each set contains 35 stainless steel blocking wires, also known as dressing wires or blocking pins. Each wire is 3 feet long with smooth ends that won't snag your knits. There are no flat spots near the ends of the wire. Each wire is long and smooth, treating your knits with the care they deserve. Sets are packaged in attractive PVC storage tubes. Our tubes and wires are custom made in China. Before filling the wire, we polish both ends of all tubes to make them smooth, beautiful and nick-free. Blocking wire is used frequently in damp blocking, so you'll need stainless steel wire and pins (if they're not stainless, they'll rust and stain your clothes). You'll need a flat-sided blocking mat on which you can pin and dry your knitting. Hardwood floors won't work at all, but carpets (when covered with a clean, dry towel or sheet) and spare beds will work fine. First, wet your knitting well. That means soaking it completely in water for at least 15 minutes. 30 minutes is good. Blocking is much better when the core of the yarn is thoroughly wet. Essentially, you just spread the knitting out, thread the wire through a straight edge, pin it down, and leave it to dry completely.
