The ferrule is made from nickel-plated brass and is coated with a triple-bonded epoxy barrier to preserve the life of your brush by reducing the chance of water damage. After using one of our watercolor brushes, be sure to take good care of it. Run the brush through warm water while the watercolor is still wet. Once you have removed all the color from the brush, lay it flat and let it dry. Do not immerse your Black Velvet brush in water as this may damage the handle.
