Titanium needles last 5 times longer than chrome plated needles Needle System: 15X1ST BP (same as Schmetz 130/705H-E) Titanium needles are the same quality as Organ needles with the added benefit of a titanium nitride coating layered over the surface of the needle. The titanium coating makes them last up to 5 times longer than traditional chrome plated needles. They are more wear resistant and reduce needle braking, bending and distortion. Using titanium needles means better stitch quality, less downtime and reduced production costs. Ball Point (BP) needles are designed to mitigate against puncturing knits and loosely woven materials. The cross fibers and loosely woven materials that make up knits are relatively far apart compared to tightly woven materials. When a standard "sharp" point needle encounters one of those fibers while penetrating the fabric, it cuts the fiber directly. A hole is created in the fabric. Ball Point needles push the fiber they encounter aside while penetrating, preventing them from creating a damaging hole in the fabric. This 15 x 1ST needle is a special version of the 15 x 1 for embroidery and decorative stitching. The oversized eye reduces stress and tension on the thread, making it very suitable for decorative stitching.
