Size: φ6.5 x 5.5cm Material: Crystal glass Country of origin: Japan
Satsuma Kiriko is a type of cut glass made in the Satsuma domain at the end of the Edo period. Using crystal glass containing 24 to 25% lead, colored glass is welded to a depth of 1 to 2 mm onto the surface of the colorless glass. The product made by cutting and polishing the colored glass is called "Satsuma Kiriko". Satsuma Kiriko is made of thick colored glass, but the color is pale, so it is characterized by the gradation "blur" that occurs between the clear glass and the colored glass. Regarding handling of Satsuma Kiriko - Satsuma Kiriko is not heat-resistant glass. Please be careful not to pour boiling water into it as it will break.・Crystal glass is a soft glass. Do not touch glass to glass.・Soak in warm water with dish detergent and wash carefully with a sponge or cloth. Clean the cut surface from time to time with a soft brush. -The glass blowing, cutting, and polishing are all done by hand by craftsmen, so the weight and thickness of each piece will vary.・In rare cases, there may be bubbles or other contaminants in the glass, but this does not pose a quality problem.・Do not use in a dishwasher or microwave. The color of the actual product may differ slightly depending on your monitor environment. note that.
