Manjushri Bodhisattva Manjushri Bodhisattva is a representative bodhisattva of Mahayana Buddhism, and together with Fugen Bodhisattva, he is a side attendant of Shakyamuni Buddha and forms the Shakyamuni Triad. He is sometimes worshiped alone as a figure riding a lion, and is followed by the Eight Great Dojis of Manjushri. In Exoteric Buddhism, he is considered to be a real person, and is said to be the person who compiled Buddhist scriptures after the death of Shakyamuni Buddha. He is closely related to the Prajnaparamita Sutra and is in charge of the wisdom of the Buddha. His shapes vary, and he is often depicted riding a lion, which is a symbol of ferocity.
