This kit comes with a wooden base, a 1.1m rod and a moveable electromagnet. The electromagnet can be moved anywhere on the rod and runs on a timer. When the ball is released, the timer is triggered and stopped. The ball lands on the base for an accurate measurement and subsequent calculation of 'g'. Manual included.
