The contra-rotating rotor of this machine is a counter-rotating propeller-like version of the main rotor of a single-shaft helicopter, and has the advantage of being able to offset the counter torque of each rotor. The Model J was equipped with a 450hp R985 Wasp Junior engine and could fly at a maximum speed of 177km\/h with a crew of four, but the project was terminated without an order from the Navy.
